For 440 years, Ahrensburg Castle has been one of the most beautiful Renaissance castles in Schleswig-Holstein. Over this long period, the castle’s inhabitants have experienced both joy and sorrow, as well as periods of decline and financial hardship rather than wealth and splendour.
The castle museum features impressive artefacts spanning a long history, from the Renaissance to Historicism, whilst the modern era is also represented.
Today, the castle is not only a museum and the landmark of the town of Ahrensburg, but also offers its visitors a wide range of opportunities to discover it from a whole new perspective.
